huh

brenspeed sucks...

Lets try this again.

Canned: Preloaded on a Diablosport or SCT usually specific for just a different octane gas or just a CAI, it does not take into account any other mods. These tend to be very conservative. It appears this is what rravolt has.

Custom (somtimes referred to as canned) tunes: From a good tuner like B amachips, VMP, EVO or Brenspeed, these tunes are great much better performance and they are written for your car only. It you have a o/r pipe, LTs, CAI etc, the tune is written with all of that accounted for. These are by no means conservative...they can change the cars performance so it feels like a new car.

Dyno tune: The best of all of them because its hands on with your car on the dyno measuring a/f amongst other variable. These should net you the most HP but I have seen tunes from the tuners mentioned above producing about the same amount of gains. If you have a good shop near buy that is good with the new mustangs, then this would be a good option. It will be more expensive though.

Hope this clears it up.

Canned tunes are generic "fits most cars with general mods CAI + Tune". They work for 90% of the cars out there, however the more mods you have the more unique the charactersitic your timing curve and fuel/air ratio will be. It's a good idea to get custom tuned for anything major like engine work (FI), heads, cams or F/I. (nitrous, turbo orS/C). I had a canned tune and was able tosafely add2 degrees of timing on a custom Dyno tune which netted mean added 15 hp to the RW's. It was free HP, the tech just kicked up the timing a couple of degrees and I was still running in the safe zone, over what JDM had emailed me (canned).
