Default Post you tips for a cooler engine.

Ok, ok. Lets all post things that we have done to remove heat from the engine, since they loose so much power when heatsoaked.

I read a post last night where someone said remove the gasket on the back of the hood. I did this ten minutes ago, and can see how it will definitely remove heat.

Here are some pics.

It is attached to the top of the hood with small push pins, just pull the gasket off.

New hood.
I would also like to find some phenolic spacers.

I wonder if those heat extractor hoods work very well. Or maybe a cowl or hood scoop?
My first run at the track is always the fastest, because of the heat soak I get.

That might work at the track but in daily driving, it will promote hot
air into the cabin intake filter. Just a thought as to why it is there besides
water and rain.

It'll also keep the hood from touching the plastic cowl and making a squeak noise. The older body stangs do this alot from their cowl panels.

Just out of curiosity...why? The entire intake is already composite, sheilding the TB from as much of the block heat as possible...

Maybe to tune intake runner length and replace the CMCV's?
