where did you order it from? On a scale of 1-10, how hard was it to install? Thanks

Vack, you will not be disappointed!!

Crow, Less than $200 shipped www.brenspeed.com

Scale of 1-10? 5 I did mine on ramps in my driveway. Took about 1 1/2 hours. Just make sure you have a 10mm deep socket with at least a 10"-12" extention. Kinda intimidating sliding that far under the car, just make sure you use jackstands or takeALL necessary safety precautions when the car is in the air.

Good luck

I got a screaming deal from a forum member Subzero, I'm not sure I'm supposed to say how much but screw it, he had one left, I paid 60 bucks less than normal shipped to my house. Came with the Red Urethane bushings as well as the White Ball. It was very easy to install, if 10 is the easiest mod and 1 the hardest, I'd say skill wise a solid 7 or 8. The hardest part was fishing the old one up out of the shift hole and the new one back in......*****HINT**** if you invert them, especially putting the Hurst in, and spin it once it is through the hole, your life is much more simple, it helps to have a friend sit in the car and guide it down through. 3 things I like the most, 1- Old School Feel, sound and quality, 2- It looks Bad A$$, already had 4 compliments on the shifter alone it's installed now about 42 hours, 3- It puts your arm in a new location so it's not that bad or uncomfy to rest your hand on teh ball while driving, oh and for what I paid shipped, ya can't beat that

a couple things worth mentioning...the hurst instructions don't specify which lubricant to use on the shifter bushings, I ended up going with hi temp brake caliper grease. Also they don't tell you to use blue loctite on the shifter handle and to crank the holy JESUS out of the allen head bolts, but you have to, or the shifter will come loose in a few miles' worth of shifts. You have to tighten that damn handle like you're trying to break the bolts off.

but yeah, I like mine, a million light years ahead of the factory shifter.

Why are they so much better? More definate feel?

Also, alot of guys recommend using jackstands. Thats bull crap IMO.

All you have to do is go to depot and buy like 10 8' X 10" boards and cut them at varying lengths, then stack them in order on top of eachother and drive up them. Mine lift the front of my stang almost 2 feet.

yeah with the hurst, you just prop your elbow on the center console and shift with your wrist. The shifting is very deliberate, like a deadbolt. There's never any doubt as to whether or not you're in gear.

And I use rhino ramps for all my projects, plus oil changes. Unless you have a CS or a chin spoiler, or are lowered, there shouldn't be clearance issues.

Maybe It's just because this is my first manual car, but I never have a problem making sure my shifts are perfect.

I would like a hurst, but in the meantime I have never missed a gear unless I wanted to
