Have a midget drive the car. Ok, I couldn't resist Anyways, everything I was thinkin has been said. Only other think I can think of is removing the rear seat, but you said that's a no-no. Do you use it often? If not, I know there's a rear seat delete kit that is carpeted and stuff so it looks nice and finished.

No, he didn't. He asked what he could do to lower the gross weight of his stang, and how much each lb would help him time wise on the 1/4

Ok that is true but battry relocation is along the same lines and will shave some time off usually.

You have probably saved at least 50lb by changing out the stock H and axle backs, so you can add that to your list of weight saving mods.

When I had my SLP LM on they weighed a total of 18 lbs. The stock ones are that each. I went from a stock H to an O/R X and I at least saved 30+ lbs so that's how I got to 50lbs. A gestimate on my part too except I did weigh the LM.

15' wheels with skinny tires in teh front.

that helps a LOT!

I have always wondered...might seem stupid, but hey, I am just wondering....

What would happen if you inflated your tires with helium? Would that make your car weight less?
[/stupid question]

That would be a great way to get that "back to the future" hover type thing going on

why. All that does is lower the front weight percentage. And thats sucks on roadcourse races.
how would putting more weight in the back suck on road course racing??? we have somewhere between a 53/47 or 54/46 F/R weight distribution. moving the battery to the back puts that maybe 1% closer to 50/50, probably more like .5%. either way, it helps, not hurts...
