Default Heat coming from under dash

I have a 2007 mustang gt convertible and when I'm driving I feel like heat is blowing by my right leg does anybody have this same problem.

I have the same thing. If you look up under the dash there isnt really any insulation up above the carpet and there isnt insulation on the trans tunnel. The exhaust runs right through this area so if you are driving for a while i think the heat just comes through the metal and into the cockpit. That is what i tell myself anyways.

I guess that what it is, does it feel like it is blowing on your leg like the older cars use to have when they had vents.Have they come up with any solutions for this.

My footwell is always hotter than the rest of the car. By a good amount. Never investigated why, but I definately notice it.

i have that too i juss put the a/c on the floor and vent gets rid of it

This is normal, its from the catalytic converter. Look under the car, you'll see why.

My car had the same problem i found that the shift rubber boot was not in all the way Just remove the shifter cover and look at the shifter This might be the problem . Good luck

+1 and i was told with an off road pipe it will be even hotter and that i should install heat shields

I get a lot of floor heat from the cats but I can't say I feel any draft of warm heat, though.

Got rid of my cats and run an off-road X pipe. Heat mostly gone...
