Like JohnnyV8 says, be sure to rev match when downshifting at these speeds.

Sleeper2
VERY VERY KEY! This is huge when downshifting...much smoother on you and your ride!

Rev match = double clutch. Do it right, or do not do it at all.

Clutch in, pop out of gear (N). Clutch out......throttle blip. Clutch in , into lower gear. Release.

AmericanSpeed, I was just like you but after a while of hanging around here and driving around just because its fun you will get the hang of it. Practice when you are on an empty road and like some has stated clutch in put it in neutral blip the throttle pretty much you do this to match wheel speel with engine speed, clutch in, downshift to gear clutch out and gas.. trust me in no time you will do it without even thinking about it. Good Luck and have fun

Double Clutching allows for a better, smoother downshifting.

I dont double clutch, atleast i dont think i do...lol

If im in 5th gear doing 45mph and i wana haul ***. i 1.) put in my clutch. 2.) while the clutch is still in, i rev up to 4500ish(or "matching" where the rpm will be b4 you let go of the clutch) 3.) then i let go of the gas and BOOM, im gone! lol kinda like what you do minus the N part.

imo, as long as ur rpm is where it will be before you let go of the clutch, ur gold.

Yea I am with johnnyv8 on how I downshift. If I am in 4th gear going 40mph, I engage the clutch, blip the throttle to match the revs while moving the stick into 2nd, and drop the clutch while the revs are matched...I skip the neutral part sometimes, but sometimes I double clutch as well...I dont see a difference so I don't do the extra work a lot of the time

Thats what I pretty much do also, I was just curious about the double clutch and throttling in the neutral position. Thanks for all the info everyone.

I hear and that is i hear that the double clutch is bs thing that everybody got into after fast and the furious. just what i "heard".

& trust me there alot of bs in that movie.

its funny, cuz most ppl who saw the movie had no idea that the truck he pulled up in(svt lighting) was faster then most of those cars (minus the skyline).
