ok so i know theres a thousand posts on cold air intakes but yea im lookin into gettin one. my question is do you have to buy the tuner, or can you take it somewhere and get them to do it so you dont have to spend 300-400 on the tuner. i have an 05 gt and my buddy just got a 08 gt with a cai. is it possible to like download a tune specificly for my car onto his tuner and then plug it into my car?

 

You dont need a tune at all.

You need a tuner of your own because his will be set up for his car. The tuner programs his stock tune and holds it for when he puts it back to stock. You're gonna need the same. If you have a speed shop maybe you can get a dyno tune and see if they'll hold your stock tune in their computer. A cai without a tuner is worthless IMO

 

yea thats what i was afraid of. i didnt know if the tuners could hold multiple tunes. the granatelli cai says you get 25 rwhp without a tune. anybody who has that, is it legit?

 

I had the BBK for a week with no tune. I did not notice any difference at all from stock. I called Brenspeed and purchased SCT tuner for my intake. What a difference a tune makes. My car would scratch second hard. I put in 373 gears and now scratch third gear in an automatic. CAI and tune will make it feel like a different car. CAI alone makes no difference in my opinion.
