Looking to get 300hp on the ground. Need advice!
Howdy gents, I'm new to the board and just got my "new to me" 2007 GT/CS at the end of August. The car is manual andall stock except for what Ihave narrowed down tobe Flowmaster 40 series weld-ins. I'm looking to get 300hp to the ground. I am considering a JLT/CAI with a Brenspeed 93 octane tune, an o/r H-pipe, and if needed CMCV delete plates and u/d pulleys. I'm new to the car tuner world and have just gathered this formula for my masterpiece by lurking here on the forum. Do you guys think this will work? Give me your input on some options I may not be thinking of if you don't mind taking the time to do so.
P.S. A good friend of mine has a 07 GT with an o/r X-pipe. It sounded too "raspy" for my taste. Seemed to make a lot of tinging/rattling sounds around 2,500rpm. Will an H-pipe do that too? Is there anyway to avoid that and still get hp gains?
Thanks guys!
Larry

With those mods you might be hovering just under 300 HP. You might need long tube headers to break past the line.
As for the exhaust....I have heard a lot of these cars with that raspy, tinging, underwater gurgling sound. This happens with most of the aftermarket mufflers from what I can tell. Some people like it, I personally hate it. My soultion is keeping the stock mufflers (aftermarket mufflers get you 0 HP) and eventually Kooks long tubes. I am hopeing the Kooks don't add any raspy pinging gurgle.

sounds good to me, but like someone said in a post above this, the stock mufflers will give you the same performance as aftermarket ones. until you start using a supercharger, you wont see any gains with a new muffler. it will sound better though : P

Sounds good, that should get you to a little over 300whp. If not, a dyno tune would put you over. I've heard X-pipes don't sound good on our cars, if you worried about it stick with an H-pipe. The difference in performance is almost negligible.
I have a set of CMCV delete plates for sale in the parts section right now if you're interested.

I think you are right on track w/ 300 rwhp. w/ my mods listed below i got 291 rwhp. my JLT is on the way and should put me over the 300 mark. so w/ your UDP and CMCV in place of my LT's should be approx the same hp IMO.
ps. i like my x pipe but thats personal taste i guess, the h pipe is less raspy and would sound better w/ your flows vs and x pipe.

Instead of spending an assload on longtubes, get your ride custom dyno tuned after everything is installed and that will put you over 300rwhp for sure...good luck
