Gas Milage question, CAI, 93 tune
I have an 06 GT stock and currently i'm getting about 17-18 mpg on avg. I'm planning on adding Short headers, custom exhaust, and looking at Ford CAI (because of an extended warranty I bought) and retune to 93 octane. I'm sure most of you have made these upgrades. What kind of gas milage drop did you get? I'm wondering if I should just go with the headers and exhaust and stick with the cheap gas.

i get about 12.8 mpgs according to my dash i havent checked the numbers manually. My JLT and B-A-M-A 93 tunes should be here in a few days so ill let you know. You shouldn't worry about gas mileage, afterall you bought a muscle car for it's fun factor not for it's fuel efficiency. Crude Oil is trading around 86-87 dollars a barrel here on the trading floor with little sign of letting up, especially now with the situation of iraq and turkey. Sorry for the useless info lol, my point is you own a mustang gt go out and drive it hard and enjoy it. Afterall you get about 4-5 more mpg's than me lol

Since putting my mods on a few weeks ago, I have not noticed any change in my mileage. I do drive it harder now that its moddded and the mileage didnt decrease by more than .2. Hope that helps you.
Oh yeah, no difference mileage wise between 87 and 91 octane. I didnt notice that much difference performance wise either. Not enough to justify the extra cost of gas anyways.

Any gain in gas mileage will be compensated by the right foot. I got the pulleys and CAI all are suppose to give you better gas mileage and the simple fact is you aren't going to drive it like a Granny anyway. You know that and I know that. You can't rearrange it, it's reality. One thing is certain with our cars driven like a normal person you will achieve respectable MPG numbers but try it. Good Luck.

I average 21.5mpg. 75 miles a day. 2/3's of that are spent on the highway bouncing between 60-90mph. The other 1/3 is spent in downtown St Louis. I flat out haul *** on the highway and get pretty decent mileage.
