Default JLT2 Intake Filter

It's only been two months since I installed the JLT2 intake with Bama tune, but the color is starting to fade and turning black on some parts of the filter!! Is that normal? And how often do you change/clean the filter?

I would say that maybe that spot just got a little grease on it or some extra oil and dirt has just clung to it and caused it to darken quickly. Or, it could be that portion of the filter is rubbing on something. I don't think it has anything to do with the filter needing to be cleaned or anything. Just my .02.

try cleaning it first, that would be the simplest solution. but dry it out real good after, probly take a whole day to dry out well.

The overal "darkening' means it's doing it's job... trapping dirt. Those dark spots on the other hand look a bit suspect to me such that something may be rubbing or it's pulling a lot of dirt from a very locallized location. If it bothers you, then clean it, although I thought oiled filters were good for about 15,000 miles between cleaning.

Mine does that too, so don't be worried. Where is a guy supposed to find the oil for these things, and what do you wash them out with?

Yep, that's exactly what's happening. Mine looks the same. Look at your hood liner.
