Manual or Automatic GT?
Hello,
I am very new to Mustangs. I have owned a 2007 Corvette for a brief time and learned stick on it. I did not have it for long though cause winter came and I thought a SUV would be better. So long story short I am still a little nervous at owning a Manual car full time.
The reason I am getting a Mustang though is to have a power car. I do not ever really intend on racing, I would however like to put money into it and upgrade the engin and everything else to the maximun. Would having an automatic be pointless upgrading?
Choices would be this,
Specifications
Automatic
4.6L Engine
8 Cylinders
2 Door
2WD
Or
Specifications
Manual 5 Speed
4.6L Engine
8 Cylinders
2 Door
2WDThanks in advance

U gotta go with a stick ... muscle car and stick they go together. Thats my opinion anyways.I just bought mine and there no way in hell I would of bought a automatic with a mustang thats the funniest part of having a muscle car is banging gears and moving out. No disrespect to those with autos but thats how I feel
In my opinion, if you like to drive a stick, get the stick. If you could go either way and its not a big deal and you are new to the stick, get the auto...I will neverown an automatic car
in this kind of car, you wont be disappointed with a manual. you have much better control over the car with a manual, and you will become good at it in like a week, no worries. thats my opinion, but if youre worried about thinking about shifting (which goes away after like a day) get an auto. you probably already know how to shift well, but everyone who i talk to who only drives auto and never stick has those worries with a stick car
If you are going to upgrade the engine to the max, you're going to want to upgrade the transmission. If it was a stick, you could switch it out for a viper spec T-56. If it was an automatic, you would have to find a upgraded transmission yourself. Im too lazy right now to sift through my library of mustang magazines. Just something for you to chew on.
