Default Kooks headers

I've already installed Brenspeeds C&LCAI & tune on my 05 GT 4.6-3V & its great! Now I'm ready for another mod. I'm looking at Brenspeeds "Kooks 6020 CX"long tube headers, high flow cats & x-pipe, complete set up. I want to use Brents kit as I can get his re-tune free if I need it? My main concern is I live in So. Cal. & have to smog it. I forgot to ask Brent if his kit is 50-state legial whenemailing him. Also, I dont have a shop but I do have air tools, & all the tools I need & will be doing this on jack stands in the yard! How hard is the swap. What kind of HP gains can I expect? I will prob. be doing a UDP at the same time, thanks for any input

I'm no EPA expert but I'm pretty sure longtubes of any kind (with or without cats) are 0 state legal because they relocate the cats. I'm pretty sure federal law says cat can't be removed or relocated.

That being said, it all depends on how in depth of an inspection they do. It may pass a sniffer test but may not pass a visual inspection.

I run stock manifolds with an O/R X-pipe but the county I live in in Ohio does no smog test at all.

Let the flaming begin.

I have the same kit thats on the brenspeed website. Since I live in South Carolina I don't have to have my cats installed. When I spoke to brenspeed about a retune they said one isn't needed unless you need the o2 sensors shut off, which I did.

I had the car on the lift so I was able to remove what was in the way with ease. I didn't think the install was hard just time consuming. I love my kooks exhaust, you will too.

i would estimate the hp gains from the LT's, x pipe, and UDP's will get you 15-20 hp. not sure about the emissions test. but i say go for it! there's always someone that will pass you. thats just my .02
