Creaking sound near shifter
It's getting cold here in Michigan. I drove my Mustang for the first time since Monday, started fine and everything. Then when I started driving, I noticed that every I would give any throttle I would hear and feel a creaking sound coming through my Hurst shifter. The sound seemed to go away after the car heated up.
A little back story about the Hurst shifter. When I bought it, the dude I bought it from packaged it kinda bad and it opened up during shipping and I lost the bushings that come included with the shifter. I had to reuse the rubber bushings that came off the stock shifter.
It doesn't feel or sound like its coming from inside the transmission, so I'm thinking that it might be that bushing either drying up or reacting to the cold weather.
Any opinions?

RE: Creaking sound near shifter
its just reacting to the cold. i feel like the whole car does that. every time im in a cold vermont winter, my car is extremely squeaky in many places until it heats up. dont worry about it unless it starts to give you noticable trouble

If the sound persists, I'm going to buy Steeda urethane bushings.
