Default back from the dead

After two long months of repair work being done its finally back on the road...only to go into the garage this weekend for winter hibernation.

This is what I did after my accident....

-stripped out the KB BAP and installed the GT500 dual fuel pumps...MUCH better (no more surging feeling while in 5th @ cruising speeds)
-installed FRPP Cold Heat plugs (gapped @.35)
-whipple SC belt (6 rib)
-Jannetty Racing (waterbury, CT) Tuned

My old Dyno was 432RWHP/402RWTQ now its 452HP and 411TQ.

Too bad that winter is here and I have to wait three to four months but the end result was well worth the wait from Jannetty!!

I was about to say you can't run those pumps without a tune for them. Glad the car is back on the road.

From what Ted Jannetty said this is what was causing my boost drop and "sputtering" when boost was applied:

-Too much Timing 25deg (just about max)
-Incorrect Fuel table
-incorrect gapped plugs (Auto Lite HT0 @.5)
-loose belt (1" too long)
-horrendous exhaust leak
-real small boost leak
-and just an all out bad "boxed" tune from KB

A lot of small things that made one real big problem that just made it impossible to track down without a dyno.

25 degrees! The most i've seen is 18.5 at WOT, but I didn't take it all the way to 6200rpms. I think you might have forgotten a number in your incorrect spark plug gap. The boost leak is something I always wonder about, but judging by my boost gauge I shouldn't have any leaks.

nope when I pulled them it was .50...they come shipped @.45 which is still too much from what I've seen people running in any kind of SCd engine. .30-.35 is ideal. I have a feeling the shop that did most of the install had Maynard working on my car or something! And yes I agree 25deg is way off the chart and I should have blown my engine up at WOT. I don't know...and there are somethings I think I would be better off NOT knowing.

Get yourself an aeroforce gauge. Being able to see the timing advance is one of the best things about it.
