Default H-Pipe question

This is my first mustang and i hadone exhaust question. I want to put an h-pipe but i noticed on someone else's 2007 gt that when he put an x-pipe on, his check engine light came on. Will the H-pipe do that as well.

O/R H-pipe or catted H-pipe? A catted H would be almost pointless since you already have one stock.

You'll need a tuner, or MIL eliminators. If you use a tuner you can either just turn off the O2 sensors, or get a tune that turns them off. If you get MIL eliminators, all you need to do is plug them inline with the existing O2 sensors.

Yep as mentioned above you will need a tuner or MIL elminators. If you have a CAI and Tuner, then you SHOULD be fine depending on who did your tune. If not, just get another tune from your tuner. I bought my GT in early 06, got my CAI+Tune from Bamachips shortly after, and I didnt order an H-pipe until summer this year. When I started the car, I got no CEL, Doug told me he was turning off the O2 sensors in his tunes around that time.

So conclusion is, if you have a CAI and a handheld tuner, ask the person who did your tune if they turned off the O2 sensors in the tune, and if not, can they send you a new tune.
If you dont have a CAI+Tuner, 1) Do that first 2) or get MIL eliminators.

Good luck!

Brent told me when I ordered the H pipe from him that I may or may not get an engine light. Within a few days of the install, I got an engine light. I sent my programmer to him and he made the adjustments to have the O2 sensors shut off.
