I while back I bought a C & L CAI for my '05 V6, my question is can I convert the tuner from the V6 to a V8? I want to be able to re-use the tuner instead of buying a new one.

You need to flash the V6 back to the stock tune to unlock the tuner to be used on the V8.

That was done when I put the supercharger on the V6. I guess I could try a backup the tune from the V8 to see if it works.

I was able to find out if you own a C & L Diablo Sport tuner CL7140 you can convert a V6 unit for the V8 tuner by updating the software from Diablo Sport.

Might want to double check that info.Predator U7140 is for '05 - '06 cars (V6 or V8). The '07 and '08 Predator is a different part number (U7145).

I don't believe you can update the U7140 to a U7145 with a software update only.

When you buy a C & L CAI and tuner the tuners part number is not U7140 it is CL7140 which you can update the tuner from a V6 tunes to the 05-08 tunes. If you check the part number on Diablo's webs site you will see that. Now if you buy the tuner from a different tuner the part number maybe the U**** number and not CL**** number.
