The CAI's are all pretty much the same performance wise. But to do any good you need the CAI and custome tune. Please use the search feature. There are enough threads on this subject to sink a ship.

There are a few vendors on the forum that sell the CAI/tune combos and they really will wake up your Stang. I'm sure other forum members that have more time will provide more info. Sorry, but I'm at work.

C&L and JLT are the most popular. As long as it requires a tune.

My personaly favorite is the WMS intake, but it's expensive and doesn't offer any more performance than a C&L or JLT.

JLT is cheapest and will get same hp as the best out there, and get tuner at same time.

I chose Steeda/Brenspeed. Steeda because they make a ton of them (think FRPP's add on) and are readily available (no back-order waiting.) I went with Brenspeed because they have very fast and helpful customer service. (7 days). I'm pleased with the combo.

In 2005 one of the Mustang magazines published a shoot out on the dyno between the major CAI's available at that time. For pure HP the JLT won it but thedifferences between all the top items were negligible and could easily come out differently on a different day, different dyno, different tune. C&L won the overall recommendation based on its good HP output plus fit and finish. Since that time many others have come on the market and to my knowledge there has not been another "shootout". Much of what you will get on this forum is either a) based on this shootout or b) a personal opinion. Few have tried more than one combination. Your best choice, like others have said, is to go with a CAI & Tuner package from a reputable firm. Brenspeed.com is one that many recommend. There are others.

Save some money and go with the jlt. C&L and steeda are also good choices if saving cash doesn't matter. With a reputable tuner, theintakes pretty much all perform the same. Looks and quality of parts are different.

I have a K&N and it supposedly gives a 05+ GT 15.26 hp without a tune. I believe it! I could definatly tell the difference in acceleration.
