You could do it a lot easier and probably cheaper with an air tank, compressor and electric valve. I know the air suspension I had on my truck with 1/2 inch valves and lines scared the **** out of people. The best part is refilling the bottle is free.

If you're only interested in 'looks' & 'sound' then the cheapest idea would be to just put a huge CO2 purge kit on the car.
LOL - I actually remember this kid in a honda back in the early 90's that did it (with N20 back then) and would scare the crap out of people next to him. His car was slow as dirt, but most people around thought he was insane fast...lol
He had like 6 purge nozels...[8D]

That's what I thought but with no cats, custom H-pipe and L/T's, even at 21 psi, I don't hear sheet over the exhaust...[

A bummer really, cause I love the whine. The only time you hear my KB whine is if I'm coming at you on street. From the side or behind, it's all exhaust. Kind of sucks to me, but some like it. I really don't like being loud as sin but it's needed in my set-up...[]
At equal boost levels - I think the whipple sounds the sweetest of all the kits.
