Default Exhaust mods?

I want my exhaust to have more sound andmycar to havelittle more hp. I thought right off the bat I am going to do at least hi-flow performance mufflers, not sure of what brand yet. I don't want longtube headers, because I don't have that much money to spend on install, shorty mid-pipe, and parts together if I want new mufflers too. So, Any ideas on how much rwhp I will gain from:
1. performance mufflers (ex: Flowmaster, JBA, Maganflows)
2. Shorty Headers (ex: Mac or JBA)
3. Hi-flow mid-pipe (ex: JBA, Pypes, or just maybe hi-flow cats I will throw on)
Any help in this department is great. I am already youtubing sounds, so all I really want to know is the difference in sound volume and power made by each mod. Thanks ahead!

Axle back won't yield any increase. 1-2whp claim is just dyno error.

Shorty headers may add 8-10whp

Hi-flow X maybe 3-4whp
Hi-flowH maybe 2-3whp

So if you put it all together you may get 10whp.

Suprisingly the stock setup flows very good so all that money will go mostly for changing the sound, not adding much power.

I would pass on the shortys and if you can go O/R unless you need to pass emissions. Going O/R X will give you 8-10whp peak but take away a little on the bottom end. An O/R H will give you 6-8whp and not take away from the low end torque.

So passing on the shortys and going O/R will save some major cash, probably enough to almost get LTs purchased but not installed.

As far as clips, look up americanmuscle4.6gt

He has more sound clips than anyone and is called the 'exhaust guru' on here.

Cool! Thanks for the help! Great Sound Clips and Info!Looks like if I really want more power tooI should go cai/tuner w/custom tunes combo. If you can help me with this, how much could I gain from a 93 race tune and a C&L cai? Thanks!

Why not LT's? Installing them isn't that difficult.

Lemme see here, all I have and automatic, only mechanical mods are a K&N Intake, Pypes mid muffler.... and I dyno'd at 275 HP with 340 FP of Torque to the rear wheels. A couple of stock 5 speeds Dyno'd at 262HP/283FPTQ and 265HP/281FPTQ ....a 10 Hp gain between the two and a huge torque gain...I was happy with it, when I get the tune I'm hoping for 295 HP....

Don't bother with shorty headers, if you do get headers get longtubes. If I ever have the money, I'd like to get longtubes with either a highflow cat or o/r x-pipe and leave the stock mufflers.

You've got to be kidding me. I have way more mods than you and I'm only at 325

Yea, a K&N intake and mid-pipe is not going to give you 340rwtq. It will barely give you 300rwtq.
