CORSA is here and installed!!

Yeah I want to get a drive by video and some videos inside the car at various conditions.
The more videos of these we can get the better. The Corsa crew needs to grow!!

the exhaust sounds great!!!
So I seem to be having problems keeping the right muffler from slipping off the mid-pipe. I had it tighter than freaking crap too!
I just came home from the Gym and as I was leaving, I noticed the car sounded much louder and deeper. I was like, WTF this sounds different. Then I hit a speed bump and heard a metal slamming sound. Then I realized the muffler slipped off (which I kind of figured it would). Dang it.
It actually sounds freaking cool not going through a muffler.
It is a little drony but not as bad as I thought. The drone from the Bassani Race is much more annoying (like the Mac I think). This drone is pure muscle car sounding.
I actually kinda like it. hehe. But even then, I think the Corsas (when connected correctly) sound a little better IMO. But that's just me.
The funny thing is, when I was at a stoplight, a cop pulled up right beside me. So here I am rumbling MUCH louder than normal b/c of the exhaust leak next to a cop. When the light turned green I accelerated and VRRROOOOOOOMM it went. And boy did it VRROOOOM. Sounded neat but I just knew that cop was eye balling me. I had the window down so I could tell it was LOUD. Luckily he kept going and didn't question me about the loudness. Maybe he thought it sounded cool, dunno.
Anyway, I know what I'll be doing this weekend. Trying to figure out why the right muffler doesn't want to tighten up as well as the left.
So now that I heard my exhaust bypassing the muffler, I kind of have a better idea what the LM or BT may sound like. Sure it's only one side that's open, but still pretty damn loud.

My right muffler used to move around a lot during normal driving. I even got a "Hey buddy, your muffler is loose." comment one day. I went to my muffler shop and they removed the rear (by the exhaust tip) hanger and welded on a new one with a harder rubber bushing in it and now it doesnt move a bit.
Great choice on the Corsas...to put another option out there...
Bone stock with just the Corsas: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5ut-0708_sw
A few bolt-ons with off-road H and the Corsas: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iTOBpr41K64
With the off-road H, it really is an insanely loud combo. Going through drive-thru places a lot of times I had to cut the engine off to hear the people or so they could hear me. You will not stay below the radar with this setup so you have to behave haha.

Nice.
I probably won't get an o/r pipe due to emissions testing.
Ah well, high flow cats will have to just do. I'm not sure which sounds better with Corsa though, H or X catted pipe. I know some mufflers sound good with one and bad with the other. I can't imaging the Corsas sounding bad with anything though, they just rock so hard.
I finally got the mufflers to clamp on correctly. The left side came loose on me too. Turns out I had the clamp too far down the pipe and it wasn't clamping down like it should. Doh! All is well now. Today I drove home from work with the windows down the whole time so I could hear them better.
Sounded so nice. I also a few times manually shifted through my Auto's gears so I could make the engine to rev higher before shifting. Made my auto sound just like a manual. This also allowed me to hear the Corsas roar better. Muahaha! If I only had that B&M ratchet shifter....but it's not out yet. [:@]

You made a great choice with the Corsas. It took me about 4 exhaust setups to find the right sound for my car. I would have just bought the corsa's right away but the price always stopped me. Sadly, I ended up spending more than the price messing around with other systems! [:@] Now I couldnt be happier with the Corsa's. I agree with what you said ealier. They just sound how an S197 is supposed to sound. They sound pretty close to being straight piped (obviously toned down) but with none of downside.
In regards to the best header and midpipe setup: After spending countless hours searching youtube for exhaust videos, It seems that Kooks long tubes, high flow cats and their Xpipe sound the best on our car with any muffler setup. Thats just my opinion. Everyone has their own taste. Here are some of the videos that could help your decision:
Kooks LTs, high flow cats and Xpipe with Corsa's: http://youtube.com/watch?v=RzLCjvq-b3U
same setup but with the Pypes Mid Mufflers: http://youtube.com/watch?v=e_Ftc82mT7I
same setup but with Magnapacks: http://youtube.com/watch?v=ukoZt09SZ6w
Good Luck!
ps- You need two new people for your crew? I have another friend with the same car and Corsa's. [sm=icon_rock.gif]
