I like the Castroil Syntec. It actually seemed to make the motor run smoother. Maybe it was just in my head.

I'm partial to Amsoil. I've heard some negatives about RP and not just on this forum or just on Stangs.

Just curious, for my own information, what negatives about royal purple? I had thought about using it on the next oil change.

it depends on who you ask....some say the moly in it is bad others say it helps....i have run RP for quite some time now.....i did get a case of redline cheap so i am using it this time around but will probably go back to RP......just will depend on price when i need it again

To be honest, I don't know what negatives other than what howarmat mentioned. And IF I was on a budget I'd be using Mobil1 in the Stang like I do in my SUV. It's probably the next best to RP and Amsoil and a good deal cheaper from what I've seen. I'm sure whatever you pick will give you great service and piece-of-mind. Just be sure to get a good filter. The Motorcraft seems to have some glowing reports compared to others and the price is right.

yeah, apparently RP doesnt meet the specs that Ford reccomends, but others say that that is just because RP measures in a different way. Anyway, You really cant go wrong with the ones mentioned, personally I use redline.

Yeah as long as its synthetic you will be fine. I use good ole Mobil 1. Cant go wrong with it if its used over 70 percent of cars in Nascar
