Why not get the Stock saleen blower and have Brenspeed do there stage 1 upgrade. It is still less than 5lbs boost and you will probably get 400whp.

Any kind of mods can shorten the life of your engine, the thing is you don't know how long your block will last even stock, it could blow at 60K or 120K. Maybe a blower at low boost levels shortens your motor by 10-15%, no one really knows.

I am hoping my Whipple HO puts out at least 440-470 rwhp when I get it back.
I wouldn't worry. My dyno results were F'd up or my car was F'd up. I was trapping almost 118mph which can't be done in a 3,750 lb car (me+blower) with only 403hp. You will forget about dyno numbers once you drive it.

+1. Dyno numbers look good on paper, and are useful for measuring your d!ck, but it's all about the a$$dyno. Mine's WAAAAAAAAAAY happy.

Moose - did u read what Brent told me about his thoughts on your dyno?

Thanks for the info. I think i may have it narrowed down to the Paxton kit that brenspeed sells ora twin screw, either Saleen or whipple. Ireally likethe Paxton b/c of the price and it looks like a pretty good setup. I really like the saleen and Whipple also b/c i hear they are easier to install.

To me PSI is PSI. I would say the common standard is 10psi or less on stock internals. I have not heard of anyone blowing a motor with 10psi and a good even canned tune. You also cant drive it like you stole it all the time because that will hurt it to.

If you are going to play with FI you have to be willing to pay the consequences. I could run 10psi on my whipple and make 550rwhp (yeah right but stay with me) and I could drive it for 4 years and 50,000 miles and not have one problem.

You could get a base saleen at 4.5 psi and your motor will let go in a week. There are far too many variables.

The point is it is only money so have fun. And keep a stash of money on the side for the "rainy days"

lol. If i could just get my girlfriend to think like this, but thats why i love coming here. I'm not amechanic or anything but i would like to try to install a ts myself. I worked on cars iv had in the past but they where mainly bolt ons, nothing as big as a supercharger.Would this be over my head? How many of you have successfully installed a Whipple or Saleen yourself?
