Novelty goat

Hi Folks,

I just ordered an 08 GT vert last week and have a question for anyone who has installed an axle back, 08's only. I am hearing that the stock hangers won't work with the aftermarket mufflers due to an exhaust hanger design change sometime late in the '07 model year. Anybody here who has first hand experience in this? Will I need to buy new hangers or will the axle back bolt right up like on the earlier Stangs? Thanks.

Checked Brenspeed.com and all of the axelbacks for the GT say they are good for 05-08. So I'm guessing there isn't a change to deal with.

Some vendors started to provide new hangers for the late 07's. I think they were pretty cheap. Buy your mufflers from a good Mustang shop like Brenspeed and they can hook you up with the right parts for your car.

I'd be surprised if the axel backs for the '05's thru '07's don't fit the '08's. Who told you that? I'm wondering if it's someone that doesn't want you to do the install yourself.

They will fit, you just need to get the hangers for late 07's and 08's.

I bought the corsa exhaust off ebay and it said 05-06, it seemed to bolt up just fine to me besides the normal adjustments for centering the tips and how far they stick out.

Fit on mine, just had to reposition a hanger to get the alignment to look as good as possible. With slps.
