Default supercharger / NA and Longtubes?

Hey guys,

I'm not clear on one mod ... LT's .... they add almost 15hp's to a NA car .... but does a supercharged setup require LT's as well?
I hear LT's are no good for supercharged stangs, but will add value only to a NA stang!

can you enlighten me on this please?

I run LT's with my Supercharger. I lost a pound of boost but the car sounds really mean I made up for the lost pound by dropping a pulley size.

N/A or FI doesn't matter, it's the same fact that L/T's are not required or 'needed' but a good mod IMO.

Holy crow! That would tell me that the stock manifolds are a significant restriction in an FI application.

ive been wondering this also. im running longtubes/resonated h-pipe to pypes mid muffler delete. does FI need back pressure or does it gain any with a full exhaust set up?

it depends what you consider a waste of money....the gains from L/T and exhaust setup is not earth shattering by any means....10-20 rwhp is what I have read as well as my personal experience....so it all depends...some people here will pay allot to gain 2-3 rwhp...others..want huge gains to spend the $$$...me I had 257 stock...added cai and tune plus my header set up and went up to 300.8 and 304 torque...reading others on here with just cai and tune getting 270-280's made me feel ok so my headers were about the additional 15-20 as expected. but again its all in what you consider a waste....love the sound and setup....works great with my saleen .....so I think THUMBS UP to headers....IMO

8 psi here too currently, 422whp, 401tq with stock manifolds and H pipe. I'm guessing LT's would add about 6-10hp, this, based on dyno results from a local Mustang shop that has been installing ARH LT's on S/C S197 stangs.
