Don't do it. Save the cash for any repairs in the future if needed. The additional warranties usually don't cover much and many are just as a deductible.

Yea, Im gonna have to go with Brad on this one. The way technology is today, (cars lasting alot longer) I think extended warranties are more of a sales pitch in order to earn my cash. (IMO)

... but if you think it gives you peace of mind...do it...specially if you don't know the maintenance or repair history of the stang.

Consumer Reports recently did a study and the results were that Ford's quality was equivalent to that of Toyota's. I have 24k on mine and have had zero problems.

My 2007 GT has a 5 year/60000 mile powertrain warranty. It is the same engine that is in yours. Ford knows that some if not most owners are going to beat on it a little and still put the warranty out there. That ought to tell you something about the engine.

Wow. AndI used to have faith in Consumer Reports...24k and zero problems? I should HOPE so! Let me know when you have over 175,000 miles on your Stang like I had on 1 4Runner, 2 Camrys and 1 Celica, none of which required any significant repairs. My present 4Runner has 140,000 miles on it and I just returned from an 820 mile trip. Both 4Runners were tow vehicles, too.

Ford quality equivalent to that of Toyota's... Oh, please... Get real.
