Default bamachips tunes

Well, after much research here on the forums and between Brenspeed/Bamachips, I've decided to go with Bamachips' JLT intake and Xcal-3 combo. Once I identify the highest octane's around here, I'll be placing the order. I believe that 93 octane is the most common. Just a few questions:

1.) is there much of a difference between the Xcal-2 and Xcal-3?
2.)what tune setup?

I know I'll be getting the 87-performance, and want the 93-race. Can I go with an 87-performance, 93-torque and 93-race? I just wanted to get some feedback before I bombared Doug with questions. Thanks in advance!

+1, Brenspeed has excellent customer service, and you'll get the same level of performance. And you don't have to worry about this torq/perf/race non-sense.

That's funny, I got my intake and tuner from Doug in about a week. Ordered a race tune, and had it the next day. I also know some people have had problems with the xcal3. Don't know if the bugs have been worked out yet.

I remember hearing that Doug will update your tune for free if you get a new mode, even if you don't get it from him. Is this true?

I got Dougs X-3 several months ago and yes it took about 2 weeks to recieve it but believe me it was worth the wait. He has been great, my X-3 locked up several weeks ago and I had to send it to SCT. Of course they sent a new one but with no tunes. I shot doug an email and the next day I had my tunes back and updated for better shifing with my automatic. All at no charge. You get 3 tunes with your purchase so I would get the 87 performance, 93 race and 93 torque. I love the torque tune around town, it gives much better bottom end power without loosing too much on top end.

Ok, now I'm leaning towards Brenspeed and the Xcal-2. I can't find the selection of tunes they offer on their website...

They'll ask you for the levels of octane you want for your area. They don't do the perf/torq/race thing. If you want specific things from your tune let them know. Also these guys are easy to talk to, give them a call with your questions.

I ordered a tune from him (already had the tuner) and I got the tune the next morning. Doug does great work. I'd recommend the race tune. Although it says its not suited for street use, I run one in my daily driver, even in the winter.

I just got off the phone with Seth @ Breenspeed, and ordered the JLt-2 Xcal-2. Will be receiving the 87/91/93 tunes. Time to burn off that 87 I have in it right now and fill her up with 93 to get ready for the tune. Can't wait!
