The Ford Racing filter is made by motorcraft. Just better than the standard.Don't you just love oil and oilfilter threads. So many opinions out there. Who's right, who's wrong. My filter is better than your filter etc.

edit: howermat had the link in a previous post. one of a hundreds of oil filter studies too. Mindspring link will show the results of one test.

Motorcraft oil filters are made by Purolator.

That cuts it. I'm switching to a FRAM.

Yea. To me, if a product is good enough, doesn't that make it alright? Like when we were kids, and you asked mom or dad a question that you were hoping the answer to was yes. The thinking back then was "Maybe means I guess, and I guess means Yes". Don't know where I'm going with this except to say the regular ole plain Jane Motorcraft or for that matter a Napa Gold made by WIX is good enough. Why bother with anything else?

Don't know if it's woth the extra $$ (about $10 more than the standard filter), but I have to use the FRPP filter to preserve my 3 year warranty after getting the FRPP upgrade.
Anyway, who cares? It only costs me an extra $20 a year...!

We all need to do what keeps us in our comfort zone. When I did my first oil change I put a $15 Amsoil filter on. After I did some research, I'm very comfortable using the $3 + change Motorcraft filter.

And THIS will stir things: I run my Amsoil 0W20 oil about 10,000 mile intervalsand change theoil filter at 5,000 mile intervals. 95% of my driving is long distance highway.

My filter and oil can beat up your filter and oil.
