How much hp/ Is it worth it?
I got 2 questions guys:
1. How much hp gain would you get from these mods: Ported stock heads, Comp stage 3 cams, longtube headers, o/r x pipe & custom dyno tune?
2. Is it worth it to even do this?

I know that cams for our 3V's are very expensive and its rather intense labor project to have them installed.
Generally, with the 3V cars, it is more economical to slap on a supercharger, have it dyno tunedand be done with it.
But, Im sure someone else will chime in, too.

60hp roughly...but thats gonna depend on your supporting mods...and of course, on your tune.
There are people who have purchased a bad decision in cams and they have lost torque...so just be careful and do your researchon the cams your going to get.
The cams in these cars are very strong for stock...and are not usually changed until you get into high horsepower applications...

If these are his first mods it sounds silly to me. Especially on a low compression engine like the 3v. Your friend is not going to see much of a performance difference and he is going to create a headache setup in my opinion. These are big jobs and will cost tons in labor. If your friend wants big HP and wants to dive into the engine go forged with a blower and he will have tons of fun.

So the mods i listed above would add on to what he has now. So i take it 50-60rwhp are the numbers were lookin at???
