Steeda tri ax shifter

RE: Steeda tri ax shifter
I put my Tri-Ax in yesterday and you do NOT remove the console. You have to have a lift, disconnect the driveshaft, and drop 2 tranny mount bolts. It went on in about an hour, and fells better than anything else I have ever shifted.
It is very close, but gives you great shifts. The stock shifter is really a joke in compairson.

I have experienced some gear grinding occasionally... Will this shifter eliminate and/or reduce that?
Is it that much different from a stock shifter? Seems like I was doing fine at the track with my stock shifter.

So you post a link about a different year model car that certainly has differences in the mechanics, and a different brand shifter that is most likely different.... and we are dicks for pointing it out. Well that certainly makes perfect sense. Good thing you don't get your feelings hurt easily or you would probably pout over something like that.

Don't Fret Dan, we appreciate your input. It's cool fellas, easy mistake, here's the deal with the Tri Ax. Dan, I put a tri ax on a t-45 and that was a top loader that did not require lifting the car. The Tri Ax for the 05 (T3650 trans i think)however, is remote mounted, meaning it mounts closer to the driver than where it actually shifts gears in the transmission, therefore, it sits above the drive shaft. I used a lift and it made installation easy because you have to disconnect and drop the 2 piece drive shaft in the center to remove the shifter. Once the drive shaft is dropped, the installation is cake.
I like the shift on this shifter far more than stock. the length of the shifter is not apparent once installed, but the actuall throw is much quicker and much shorter. It sits in just about he same neutral position as the stock shifter, but it snaps in and out of gear and finds third for you very easily. It feels much more solid, less floppy. Install time 1 1/2 hours, but i had a friend helping, four hands made it easier than just 2.
My dial up connection doesn't have enough bandwith to post the pictures on the forum, but if you send ur email it probably won't be a problem.

Thanks fer all your input guys. I have one of these comming, and once I heard you have to go under the car.........forget it! The dealer has to do a few things to my car, so I'll have him install it. I'm too old and fat to crawl under 'em anymore!
