I am running 11PSI on the street for over a year. Peak boost has seen 12-13 PSIon a cool day. no worries here.

Sactown- Try an MGW shifter I would be suprised if you still had a problem shiftining.

Nine - Yeah at or near 6000rpm the whipple makes about .8-1 lbs of boost more. My 8psi pulley at redline makes 8.8lbs.

Also in 5th gear with more load it goes a little higher.

Yeah I have heard a couple of times that the MGW would solve my shifting problem but $hit I am already stuck with a Pro5.0 and Hurst that I can't seem to find any buyers for. Plus the Damn car is back in the shop! The monkey that replace my pilot bearing didn't assemble something correctly and this morning it would not good into first and the pedal was very soft so I was pumping it up and POP! pedal hits the floor and fluid all over the street!

Wow thats stinks. Did a performance shop install it? I thought we didnt have to change the pilot bearing? Let me know how this goes and lessons learned from your installer I need to get a new clutch in about 6 months.

Im running at 10psi and its a blast. With a safe tune you should be just fine. My biggest problem now is keeping these damn tires to the ground in 1st & 2nd.

With a good tune, you'd be fine with anything at 10 psi or less. If 10 psi or less will satisfy you, than stick with the stock engine. Personally, even if you want to go higher I see no reason to build the bottom until you break something, then just buy a built short block.
Well you'd be throwing money away by putting a hole in a perfectly good block. I don't know why people push it knowing it will eventually fail past a certain power level. Aluminum doesn't grow on trees you know.
