N/A horsepower potential
Why don't you go to Livernois's website and check out their heads.. It comes with everything that you just mentioned for $1999.
30 crank hp from the cams is very possible.. People forget to see that it's crank Hp that is rated not RWHP. So, if comp cams says that their stage one cam will net you 25-30 Hp, they are telling you that with their cams installed and tuned you will get 25 - 30 crank Hp....I also just quoted that one of the most expensive shops around here quoted 1000- 1500 to install.. minus the cost of the heads and cams...

Please post your dyno showing that. I think 30 HP for cams is pretty wishful.
I have not seen anyone get 50 from ported heads alone. so you got 80 HP from cams with no springs and heads? I would like to see the mod list and dyno sheet.
If you buy decent cams you need springs, locks & retainers. Those are not free. What about head gaskets, those are a hundred? How about fluids? Labor is going to around sixteen hours shop time.
You just quoted 4200 and left a few things out.
It is 4500-5K to have cams heads and all the asociated parts.
People only see up to330 with all the bolt ons. If cams and heads added 80 HP then all these n/a guys with cams/heads would be pushing 400. They arent.
Oh and I did not see anybody getting bashed.
That's only 3600 to 4200 installed and tuned. And where are you all getting the "only 40/50 Hp" figure? You'll get that from the heads alone and THEN you'll get another 30 Hp "on average" from the cams with the heads.

Nobody really care about crank hp because it's not accurate enough for a particular application.
Besides, 30 crank hp relates to what at the rear wheels, peanuts?
There are no cams worth a sh#t out there yet and believe me, everyone is waiting for them badly
.
Some folks have some custom grind ones but it's not available to the public until they are proven worthy.
When this happens, I'm sure the Livernois heads will become handy and deliver better gains with good cams.

It does not say anything in their listing about upgraded springs, locks and retainers on their stageI 3 valve heads. I am not sure where you see that is included.
There are probably more parts you will need too. Like Livernois Variable cam lockout gearsfor 50 bucks or upgraded phasers.
Livernois does not include free Ford head gaskets with their stage I heads. Where did you hear that? They charge 89.00 for a set.
Doyou think ARP head bolts are free? Thats another 379.00 dollars for the head bolts dude.
Dont kid yourself. Unless you are a qualified experienced mechanic, to do heads and cams is a very costly mod.

Oh my bad dude... I forgot to tell you, I am a experienced technician. I worked as a head line tech at a Ford dealer a few years ago. Now, I'm a network engineer. I have my college education in mechanical engineering. The heads that I was talking about are the Stage two heads.. pay attention to the price that I stated... $1999. You are trying soooo hard to justify this argument it's kind-of funny. It's optional to put ARP head bolt when you do the head exchange, but it's mandatory to do new head bolts when you swap heads. Do you really need the lock out phasers.. no you don't. The engine isn't going to turn over 7000 RPM's. Who mentioned anything about free head gaskets? Listen, I know what I'm talking about.. I can understand that your a little defensive because you are one of the persons who went out and bought a blower for your car... It's cool man, but there are other people who want to have something different.. like me. Everytime I see an 05 Mustang in the issue of 5.0.... It has a dang blower on it.. I just don't want to be one of "those guys".

That's what noobs do...
Sean Hyland has afew recipeof 4.6 (5.4 too) mills that get into 500hp range N/A.
Problem is, it's almost 10K for one of those...
So we're back to square one, is it worth it? Or should I FI for less and kick @ss anyway?

What I mean is since you are going to want more hp in the future just do it now. lol
I also like being different. There are too many guys on here and out there have spend 5k or more on a blower and run low 12's. Then there are guys who spend 2kand make 125-150rwhp less than the blower guys and only run like .5 seconds slower than the blower cars. There are plenty of geared, exhaust, intake, pulley, tuned 3v's running mid 12's with some DR's. Add some good cams and heads and you're in the low 12 to high 11 range real quick. Blowers = fun, but its funny beating a 5k blown Stang pushing 450rwhp in your N/A Stang pushing 350rwhp.

So you can pay more to be different. I chose to pay less to go faster
imagine how much faster and better you would be if you got heads and cams too.....ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha

Okay, fun except you will still spend more on full bolt-ons, heads and cams than that guy spent to get 450 HP.
