Default First time out and got a DTC

The Mustang came out for the first time yesterday and I got two dtc right on start up. PO345 and PO349.

It seems to run fine, I cleared the codes, drove it and all was well. Todayon the 1st cold start, pow!both codes. It was parked all winter in a heated shop and I started it regularly and kept the battery charged. Last month I put on Steeda UDPs, but I ran it in the shop for quite awhile with no problems. I also pulled the driver's side cam cover in order to paint it (didnt get to the pass yet), checked all those connections. Lastly, I pulled all the plugs and put anti-seize on them again, no probs.

My scanner says PO345 is CAM POSS CIR ER 2

PO349 is CAM POSS CIR INTER 2

Any thoughts, or should I break down and go the dealer?

If you're under warranty, definately dealer time.

When you put on the udp's did you use an excessive amount of sealer in the key way? Also what torque specs did you useand what procedure did you use. I believe there is a sensor in the crankshaft that is very sensitive to tolerance, if to much sealer gets used it gets in behind the pulley and interfereswith this sensor. Same with thetorque procedure. Should be other threads on this is the search section.

I thought about that. I was very careful with the torque specs, I followed the Steeda instructions and I dont think I used too much sealer, just a dab right in the key way.

I'm going to search for TSBs, someone else has told me they thought this was a documented problem.

You need an alternator. The dealership replaced mine under warranty.

So I called the dealer, not the one I usually go to, told them what's up and gave them the TSB. After holding a couple of minutes, the service writer says don't bother bringing it in. We'll order the Alt. and I'll call you when it gets in. Should be a couple of days and you can wait while we install it

I couldn't believe it! I was expected the whole bring it in leave it all day, Yup its the Alt. We dont have one call you when we get one.

Dealers, just when I thought I had em' figured out.
