Default FORD FINANCING

So I went to buy the lime green GT on the lot today, got to all the paper work and they tried to stick me with a 10.8% interest rate!! Has anyone else had this prob? I wanted to put 6K down on it, I'm 25, have an undergraduate degree, and am currently in medical school! I have missed ONE car payment ever. WHAT IS GOING ON!?!

Go talk to your bank. I didn't even consider Ford financing. I spent 2 months talking to different banks and eventually got 4.78%. It did take some running around though. At first, the best my bank was willing to do was 6.0% until I threatened to move my mortgage to another bank. In the end I still went with another bank, but it's worth checking with different banks. Get a rate from one and take ot to the other. Pit them against each other and you'll come out ahead. Do your homework and you won't get screwed.

yea.. thats a little high.. I put 6K down and got 10% but thats because I have a 6 year old BK and a fat school loan on there. I cant remember the loan co.. it was something like HMT or something like that.. have them call the credit people and look for that company.. you should be able to get better.

I think a lot of your APR depends on your credit score and who you are banking with... I got a 4.25 APR through my bank. Also, I was approved through Ford for 4.25, so I am pretty sure you should check out your credit

If u have a home, do a home equity loan.
I got a good rate and can claim interest on my income taxes

I live in the bay area.. the only way to get a home is 1) both hubbie and wife are making 60K+ a year or 2) you have tons of family living with you

I would try online financing, like Capitol One or E-Loan.
