Default slower with 20s?

I just had another post showing my new mod, putting my 20s on. Has anyone with 20s felt like they took away power? I haven't felt much of a difference but I've seen other people post that 20s slow a car down, which does make sense.

It's the unsprung mass theory. I think it depends on tires. My rears cost $300 a pop and I'm like you I don't think the difference is world changing..

If they are the same Cir. and weight there should be no power lose.

if they weigh more.....you are slower.......there are some cases where this is not true......wieght distribution of the wheels and such, but generally, yes you have decresed your times by .2-.4

I didn't notice at first either. But drive with them for awhile and then throw on your 17's. You can tell then. But the looks to me out weighed the little loss in pick up.

mine felt like a boat anchor was attached to my car but i've gotten over it now.

if i put my stock 18's back on i'd feel a difference.

Is traction better or worse with 20's...I'm considering them in the future...

It depends on the tires

Generally you get less traction because there is less sidewall on the tires vs an 18 or 17 inch wheels. I like the way the 20"s fill out the wells though which is why I have wheels for show and wheels for go. Costs a bit more but then you have the best of both worlds.

I think a good tire can offset the loss in pickup. Many people say though, that they can't tell a difference at all.
