Default QUESTION...exhaust

Alright, I've got an 05 GT.

I am wanting to do something about the stock exhaust...now.

I'm curious as to what sounds really good but isn't going to cost me $500. I know that SLP makes a "loud mouth" axle back for it...but I'm not sure how the local law enforcement would like me not having mufflers.

Is there a good sounding system that has small or very free flowing mufflers? Or have any of you guys had problems running no mufflers axle back?

The cats are staying put

Corsa's are good, and fairly inxpensive. You should be fine with SLP's. There was someone selling them used for 200 or 250 shipped. I'll find that link and send it to you.

Otherwise, Mac, SLP, Corsa's, Roush, Bassani, etc. They all sound pretty good.

But what about legal..the SLP loudmouth axle back removes the mufflers completely. I'm not sure how that will go over...

But I am interested if you can find me that info about the guy selling them

At least here in Chicago, something lilke that is legal. It is illegal for headers and if you remove the cats. Which, that is too late for me.

I'll find something for you. Enjoy in the meantime.

I have to wait until next year for major mods, but when I do it will be fun.

Nothing yet. For some reason, his post's are gone, but I will try to find them.

I just found the listing, and PM'ed the guy. They are SLP LM's, 140 shipped. Decent condition. I'll keep you posted.

It's a little too late for me too, . But, actually, in Illinois, it's illegal to have any kind of aftermarket exhaust. I just learned that not too long ago. They're not really too tight on that law though.

To the OP: Get Flowmaster super 44's. They're a little more restrictive than what you're looking for probably, but, the sound is well worth it. Otherwise, if you do want them to be really free flowing, go with the Flowmaster 10 series single chamber mufflers, or some Borla XR-1's(not exactly cheap though. About $120 per muffler).
