RE: I want my 2008 GT to go Faster!!!
Define what you would call "much money". If you want to get any decent gains at all, you are going to spend $500-$700.
Two diffeerent ways you could go with that first mod, in my opinion: Gears or CAI / Tune.
First thing i got for my GT was a CAI & tune. That made the car a LOT more fun to drive. But gears would probably do the same, although you would still have that annoyingly hesitant throttle lag.
Thing with these motors is, they seem to feel not too strong until about 3200 RPM, then it kicks in. I don't know if that is because of a change in the variable valve timing at that RPM or what? But, at any rate my point is, the gears allow you to get into, and stay into the mid and upper RPM range quicker and that really helps a bunch.
Like said, I got the CAI/tune first, then of course wanted more and my GT came with 3.31 gears so my next step was gears and that made a BIG difference, and I only went with 3.73's !
If I had it to do again i would probably get 4.10's tho...
After CAI / tune and gears, you could get LT headers but I really don't hink the gains would be that much. Also some other things for slight gains would be UD pullies or an aluminum DS.
If you want really BIG gains out of these 3Vmotors, only one way to go: Forced induction! Yep superchargers are great on these cars, but $$$$$ for sure.
thats my take

I dont seem to have any throttle lag at all.
For a couple pay checks or half a pay check depending what you do put exhuast tune and cai should be happy with that and I am cutting out my cats, ill let you know how that worked out.

There is plenty of info there that should get you where you are wanting to go.
That said FI is the way to go IMO big money up front but the cost of full bolt ons is pretty close to that cost. Best advice I can give thou is do your own installs.......Dont just buy it Build it. Plenty of walk thru's are on the internet(TacoBill's are real good) just take your time and go step by step. It will save you money and you will know your car.
