Default RE: champion gap??

I gapped my champions to .045, center of the .040 to .050 range specified in the owner's manual. That gap and the plugs
have been working wonderfully for me. The stock plugs were gapped wider than .050 and I've read on another thread that
the factory is gapping them to .054 (for whatever reason).

I put anti-sieze on the lower barrel but that probably wasn't needed with these one piece champions. Thinking about pulling
the champions after a few thousand miles and reinstallingwith anti-siezeon the threadsinstead.

Thanks for the info, just wondering why Champion said gap at .054. Has anybody gap it at the wider range and results? Really want to just do this once.lol
