Default Problem loading different tune

Today I went to load the 89 octane tune (I have the 87 now) and when it told me to "turn key to on DO NOT START" I did so just like before but it didn't do anything. The xcal2 just sat there with that message. I tried several times and nothing. Is this the proper way to load a different tune if you're already tuned? Am I supposed to return to stock, then load the new tune I want? That would seem a bit weird to me.

The LCD panel on the instrument panel was switching through various checks and things, but the tuner wouldn't load my other tune. What's up with that?

I have already taken in mine in for the airbag recall...no problems. As a matter of fact, I had the "as built" loaded into the gauge cluster to remove the TPMS error [:@]that I was getting from when I upgraded . In playing around with the tuner, I had no problem up loading the 87 perf tune, then the SCT canned tune, and back to the 87 perf tune without going back to stock first...JMTC

I'll tell ya what happen to me last night, mine was acting the same way, totally ignoring the key switch being turned on. I found that my SCT has a "sweet spot" where the cable goes into the case, a short or loose connection.
You might try using some of the other functions to see if it will communicate with your PCM, if not, sounds like you have connection problems.

Yeah, it's probably just connection problems. One time I hooked it up, after the beeps the device locked up. It was displaying the main menu but it did not respond to any presses. That only happened once though. I'll try it again today.
