Default HELP - diagnose slippage when down shifting

Sometimes, not all the time, on freeway when I down shift from 5 to 3, or 5 to 4, the throttle is not responsive, almost like it slips, and then it comes on. It is like a quiet stuttering of the engine before it kicks in to WOT.

Anyone else experience this? Could be the clutch? What else. Only happens sometimes.

So at 65 mph, down shift, car doesn't immediately hit WOT and pull, but quiets up (engine is not as loud at this point) with slight acceleration then grabs andthe the WOT kicks in.

Help.

You might be slipping and traction control kicks in. Press the TCS button so the light turns on. which disables the traction control system

It may also be caused by a defective fuel pump. There's a TSB for it. Was yours ever replaced?

Thank you, good advice. I turned the TCS off, and it solved the issue.

Thank you.

I wouldn't give myself that much credit. I down shift and simultaneously jump on the gas which does significantly increase the rpm mid shift. Pretty close to it.
