The compressors discharge pressure would be higher than normal for a particular mass flow rate of air, and therefore would consume more power itself. The higher the discharger pressure, the more leakage past the rotors as well, which is wasted energy, as the compressor is compressing that volume/mass of air more than once. I guess this reduces vol. eff because for every turn of the S/C, the air charge isn't 100% "fresh".
Or something like that....

I would leave the cats off, but when we took it out with an offraod H pipe it was WAY to loud[:'(]
