Hard starting after sitting for a few hours

Hard starting after sitting for a few hours
Ever since the supercharger install, when I go to start the car after its been sitting a few hours, its cranks a few times, then sounds strange trying to start. The last few times it was required totry twice. Some black soot from the exhaust also puffs on the first hard start. I have noticed more fouling on the exhaust as well, but this could be due to the richer A/F of being supercharged.
Is starting a tuning issue?

You might have a bad injector but you would think that the PCM would throw a code. Don't know what mods you've done to the fuel system. Do you know if the check valve is still in the pump assymb?

Fuel system is the GT500 system from the Whipple HO kit.
Its odd, because the first 10 or starts after the S/C, therewere no hard starts. Now, its like clockwork.....leave the car for a few hours and it pauses for a sec, or requires a 2nd go at her.
As for the injectors....looking at fuel trims bank vs bank, they are so close to one another, eliminating that theory we think.
All will be solved in July. Adam/ST Motorsports is building me a rocket. New engines are good things....hahaha.

I have soot on my exhaust too, but no trouble starting.
Hate to harp on it, but did you ever get the FRPP tuner? I think that would clear up all of your trouble's till you head over to ST.

You know, I haven't got the FRPP tuner yet. I think I'll order it today, swap for the smaller pulley and then use that until ST's magic can be worked. Not that Justin's tune was bad, it was spot on after he adjusted it a bit (his A/F was so flat.....can't even be called a curve. )
At least the FRPP tune will ensure I don't blow it up....haha.

Mygt500 had a similar starting problem, but I think his was just when the engine was cold. Mine would stumble a little after sitting for 8-10 hours, but cleaning the MAF sensor seems to have cured it.

On a semi related note..........those with relocated IAT's.....do you observe the temp rising fast WOT? It barely changes for me, even after 5-10 seconds WOT.
Perhaps the intercooler works better then I expected.
