Default Loud exhaust options?

I'm redoing the exhuast on the Saleen and want something almost as loud as when I had straight pipes on it. I switched from an O/R X to a O/R H to get the deeper tone I wanted and it sounds great when I'm on it just not loud enough and it's pretty quite when I'm cruising.

There is a video of when I had straight pipes on it. I want it to sound how it does at idle just not obnoxious when I get on it. I'll be using stock piping axel back, welding on mufflers, and going to the Saleen tips. So basically, what mufflers will do the trick?

Yea but I'm lacking the longtubes you have! And I'm assuming you have high flow cats?

I want the FRPP Stingers (M-5230-5GT) But all I need is the mufflers, not the tips and the piping. I know Borla makes them but is there anyway to get JUST the mufflers? I'm going to be welding them in and having them go into the stock Saleen tips.

Take myword for it, don't weld them on.I had to spend two hours grinding mine off when I had to re-position due to crappy band clamps, just use U bolt clamps for any of the axlebacks and you will be good, just don't over tighten[:@]

Take the Borlas to a metal shop, they can plasma cut or saw off each end (buff and polish)
to just leave the muffler, leave enough to attach your tips, then you should be good, measure how big the mufflers can be? if the area is made for stock mufflers you are good to go because they are like twice as big as any aftermarket muffler !!! lol

Saleens come with Magnaflow mufflers.

I'm not having the axle back welded to the mid pipe, just the muffler welded in place of the stock mufflers. I wanted to avoid paying $400ish for mufflers that I'm chopping the tips off. My goal was to use this stock axle back I have, cut off the mufflers/tips, have something welded in, and pipe going to the Saleen tips.

What are your thoughts? I was thinking about getting some SLP LM's for about $120 and doing what I just described. I head an 05 with an OR H and the FRPP stingers though and it sounded niceee

Personally I think O/R pipes sound aweful, you loose the deep tone, too raspy, and the SLPs are ok but since they are straight through there is not really even a muffler to cut away [&o]

I'm assuming you have not tried the H-Pipe. My O/R X pipe was nice but raspy and high pitched. I switched to a Pypes O/R H-Pipe and its a lot deeper now. Sounds more musclecar like. I just need a good exhaust to pair up with my upcoming BBR Stage II Cam

I agree with Saleen in that the off road H gives it a deeper tone. Just go longtubes... I have the magnaflow catback with Dynatech longtube headers and the Dynatech O/R X pipe. Sounds pretty loud, but I am not sure that its what your looking for. Keep in mind, the Cams will probably help to brighten up the sound too. Also, the longtube headers are perfect supporting mods with cams...

I'm just not happy how the H sounds paired up with the Flowmaster 40's. I def need to do something though because a hole rusted through one of my mufflers [&:]

ouch...

wait, flowmasters? I thought you had magnaflow with the off road H...

you should consider longtubes before the cams... hahaha. you would probably get better hp gains (I dont see how you would need the extra power with a SC and cams though)
