17,000 miles with SLP LMs and only one ticket, which I will win in court. Sets off alarms occasionally, but not too often.

Ok I was wondering... SLP loudmouths are straight through's right?

So if I went to a shop and had them take my mufflers off and just put on some 4' tips on my pipes that would give the the same sound and performance as the loudmouths correct?

No. SLP LM's have a unique design, that serve to give them a small amount of tone. Running nothing at all will have a little bit of a deeper tone. If that's what you want, get muffler deletes for $75 online. But didn't you just spend a bunch of money on Magnaflows?

Yup I did. Maybe they havent broke in yet but for some reason they don't sound as loud as the ones I heard on another S197. (and it was the exact same setup)

I wondered about putting a normal X (not offroad) and people are tellin me it won't make them any louder...
There's also a guy I know that has offered to trade me his SLP LMs straight up but he lives about 3 hrs away and I don't know what they sound like (maybe too loud or raspy? havent got to hear them yet)
Plus I have'nt heard back from him so I'm wondering if he is still interested.

So I'm kinda stuck right now as of what to do.
Then I thought of the muff take off and tip put on.
But I dunno if I would get in trouble with mr. lawdog for that or not, or if the shops would even do it.

I put SLP LM's on an otherwise stock exhaust and I loved it!! for about a month, now I need more sound.

I'm looking into O/R X-pipes now.

The LM's are certainly sweet though!

LMs have been the best sounding exhaust and is way louder than my SN95 5.0 with a full flowmaster exhaust

I absolutely love my LM's. I haven't gotten any tickets...yet. But man, you get all kinds of looks from people thinking "what the hell is that??!!" I live in a college town with an abundant amount of females and let me tell ya, it's good to be driving loud black vert GT!!

I love mine, I'm going to get some lt's and o/r h to go with them! They set off a few alarms (esp in parking garages). I have never gotten pulled over or anything. I have had them on for about 3500 miles.
