First off, welcome to the site. Gas mileage is only really controlled by the happiness of your right foot. Adding something like an axleback exhaust shouldnt affect gas mileage any. An intake and tune might help you pick up a mile per gallon or two maybe.

As for a suggestion on mods, I would say do an intake an tune since thats not to terribly expensive and the gains are pretty impressive. Exhaust recommendations are pointless at this moment since you havent told us what kind of sound you are looking for and even then its highly subjective.

Every mustang owner i have talked to said to get flowmasters, and i do love the sound.Just want a little more sound than stock. There are 100's of cold air intakes, is there one specific i should get? I know there is a increase in sound due to a cold air intake ( my truck and wifes suv) So i am not worried about that. What do you recommend for a "tune"?

BamaChips and Brenspeed seem to be the most popular custom tune suppliers with the Mustang forum members.

might want to do some reading before buying things.. 1st.. the exhaust sound of 05+ mustangs will be different than previous years. so check the official exhaust thread or listen to some youtube vids although the sounds quality doesn't do them justice you can get the idea of the tones each one hits. 2nd, exhaust offers very little benefit in the HP department on these cars (unless you get LT headers, cost about 1500 w/install usually, then its only about 15-25) 3rd most Intakes are nearly the same, JLT, C&L, Steeda a few others are all about the same performance.. just pick a tuner you like.. bama/brenspeed are the top 2 picks on these forums. Definetly read a lot of the modding stickies.

Just picked up a new 08 as well; so far

1. Bassani axle-bak for sound - $541
2. CHE K-Member brace w/ torque limiters - $150
3. Brenspeed C & L CAI w/ X-Cal3 combo - $650

4. Thinking about 3.73 FRPP gears - ~$500 installed

That'll probably be it; ran it down 1/4 mile at about 900 miles on it, 14.1@99.6mph. Figure w/ the above and *much* improved driving i can get down to 13-13.5@ around 106mph or so and that's good enough for me.

I have an 08 as well. As far as exhaust we need some more details! Do you want full system, axel backs, mid pipe.. emission a problem? Overall loudness? I have SLP LM axel backs (muffler deletes) and they are great but rather loud so its all up to what you want. As far as an intake..........SAVE FOR A SUPERCHARGER (I just ordered mine like 10 min ago!!!!!!!!!!)

Looking for a cat back system, this will be my DD and i want to here the radio.Just want some more rumble to it. Here's a big one, What about a front air dam?? I would like to get less air underneath and more over the car to help on the highway. Tuned a vette and found that i picked up 2-3 mpg (highway)just by lowering the it.

That is a good question.
Are the SLP loudmouths so loud it is hard to hear the radio with the windows down?
