Default Age Old Question..... (need help...please)

This is my first ever post and just started wandering around the forums. I recently purchased an '07 GT. It is stock and has the Cervinis Body Kit with side exhaust. Same paint scheme as Eleanor and on 20's. My questions is........ I want to add HP. What to go with....... Roush, Whipple, KB, Pro Charger, Paxton or go with a Turbo. What is the best bang for the buck? I do not want to make a bunch of engine mods to accommodate HP. How much HP can I add to the stock motor without worrying about damaging the engine? What gears would you recommend for the rear end? I assume it is the stock 331??? A friend of mine who is much more educated than I am in chargers recommended the Pro Charger. Any thoughts?? He says that it is better than a roots system like the KB or Roush. Thoughts one way or the other?? I am looking to keep it a street driver and have the ability to blow the doors off of annoying high school kids in their imports (if I decide to take the bait I am a novice and need some suggestions from those who have been there and done that. Any and all advice would be appreciated...... Lastly, how do you add pics?? I tried but received an error message.

First off welcome to the forum! Second great kit on your car!
You can add HP with any of the mentioned S/C's or a turbo. The best bang for the buck IMO is the S/C that is cheapest or what you can afford. Many will chime in about the amt of HP the motor can tolerate and most will agree 450 RWHP or less on a safe tune (not getting agressive with the timing) is the limit. People have blown their motors with much less so there really is no "set" number of HP that is safe for a FI car.
Paxton, procharger, and vortech are centri S/C's. Roush is a roots type S/C and KB, Whipple, and Saleen are twin screw S/C's. Some believe that because the boost is instant and the TQ curve is flat the motor will have more stress in particular the weakest point in the motor which is the rods![&o] ( in regards to twin screw S/C's). Just know that not all motors were created equally and you do not know if you have a well built one or not. Many should accept the fact that FI will and can reduce the life of the motor and forging should be a consideration if getting FI. Not all motors will fail and a great and conservative tune will help prolong the motor's life and its weak points.
I would recommend the procharger because everyone that has one loves them and they create the boost in the higher RPMs and some feel this is not as hard on the motor and drivetrain. So paxton and vortech should be considered as well. If you use the car as a daily driver and are not worried about gas prices (which IMO you should not be with a sports car) keep the gear you have in now (3.31) and see how you like the car after you get FI. I believe (some will kill me for saying this) that turbos are great for the track and S/C's are great for the street but it is personal preference IMO and all depends on the application it is used for....
Any of the S/C's will keep the school kids and their imports in check.
I have a whipple S/C and wanted the instant boost and the fun factor in the lower RPMS for street driving. I will get forged internals and/or and new block in the future but want to enjoy the car as is for now. I have no other performance mods to the car except for a short throw shifter and definitely need to upgrade the rear suspension (at least) this summer. At some point you may need a new clutch to handle the new found TQ for FI and you will learn to feather the pedal if you go with any T/S S/C....one mod leads to another and many of us are now on a 12 step program (we all fall of the wagon at some point). Hope this long explanation helps and others should give their opinion's soon too... J
