Default Intercooler Spray?

Is anyone here running any type of intercooler spray? I've been looking into getting a kit for my car but in another thread someone told me it wouldn't really help in air to water intercoolers

Not as effective on Air to water intercoolers but still does better than nothing at all. But if you really want to cool down the intake charge then look into Methanol injection. Much more efficiant, can be set up and tunned to be self activating by throttle, boost or MAS air meter. The down side is that you have to fill a tank with a 50/50 mix of water and Methanol from time to time, but then again, you would have to fill a compressed tank with something for a spray bar anyway!

Do you have any recommendations?

I found this really quick: http://www.snowperformance.net/product.php?pk=9

If I did do some type of intercooler spray, am I looking at much of a difference?

I can't say I know anything about that.. but what is your goal? if you are looking for more power you can get headers (Long Tubes typically offer the most) and also a 1 piece drive shaft.. I would be worried about exceeding the limits of the block with the meth injection.. unless you don't mind risking blowing it.

The driveshaft is on my list of mods to do. The reason why I wanted to do the intercooler spray is since it really isn't giving more HP it is just gaining HP that you lose through the heat...

There are many to choose from, Cooling mist, Alky, Snow, Devils Own and many more. It really comes down to what the person installing and tunning likes to work with. As far as the comment about pushing the limits of your block, stay conservitive, It cools the air and acts as a octane booster at the same time to help with detonation. I have mine set up were it only adds another 45hp but there are some people who rely on Methanol heavily and are upwards of 100+HP.

If you choose a similar route as mine, it allowed me to run a little more timming up top at WOT and droped intake temps ALOT. I can actually rest my hand on my blower discharge tube now!

So since my block is pretty much topped out, should I do something cheaper instead of a meth injection kit?

Modaddict might have some ideas.. he made several threads about the limits of the stock block. One thing he says is cooling (or heat dissipation) is one of the keys to having your block survive.. so meth injection may be a good safety measure if you don't crank up the timing on it.. there are also Cams to add HP.. I wonder.. is it safer to run lower PSI and more of the other mods to get hp to 500 vs just trying to do it onF/IPSI alone? would be an interesting experiment.. and tuning ofcourse plays a big role in the saftey of the engine..

No, I would just get it dialed in so that it cools the intake and not so much for the octane, you can pick up 40 or so horse power and actually be safer than without it as most of the power at that level is from the cooling effect

I would assume the less PSI the safer. I have heard stock blocks have a tendency to blow past 12 PSI
