No, I would just get it dialed in so that it cools the intake and not so much for the octane, you can pick up 40 or so horse power and actually be safer than without it as most of the power at that level is from the cooling effect
Is there any fairly priced kits you recommend? I was looking at $300-$400 range to spend on this

this is a good basic kit and you would have to either use your washer resivour tank or buy another one.
