Tensioner Support Plate

Tensioner Support Plate
As stated on Metco's website:
"This billet aluminum plate was designed as a solution to the problem ofthe factory Ford belt tensioner deflecting underload in supercharged applications. The factory tensioner arm tends to flextoward the front of the vehicle under heavy belt loads, and adding boost with custom pulleys or adding an aftermarket supercharger to your vehicle compounds the problem.
This braceis CNC-machined from 6061-T6aluminum and is then finish-anodized in black for long-lasting surface protection. The brace simply bolts over the factory tensioner using the provided longer bolts, and when installed, prevents the tensioner from bending outward. A special Delrin insert is installed in the back of the brace to prevent metal-to-metal contact when the tensioner isheavily-loaded.
The kit is a complete bolt-on, and requires no cutting, drilling, or any irreversible changes for installation. The kit includes theprecision-machined billet plate with the Delrin insert, three aluminum spacers, andthree Grade 8 cap screws with washers."
I will be getting a Whipple HO Kit installed and would like to know if this is worth it to purchase or is the Thumppr Tensioner the only option?

RE: Tensioner Support Plate
JDM had many that had that exact plate and the tensioner still bent on the Whippled and Kenne Belled cars! Esp over 10 psi on a manual car. Though thumper_rrr is more expensive it WILL NOT bend under any load you throw at it and many that use it are running 15+ psi!!! It will be the last one you ever will need!
