4 more years of my life.

RE: 4 more years of my life.
I would not try to get over 500rwhp if you are plaining to stick with your stock block. Shops usually say stick around 440rwhp and you will be alright.
Vortechs are more mainstream then the other SCs you have mentioned. Its cause they make them for every import, domestic car ever made.

The general rule of thumb is that you can get by with 450ish rwhp on the stock block.
To get over 500rwhp ("safely") you will need to buy a built shortblock or have your own block built up with forged internals, crank, rods, and pistons.
If my motor blew tomorrow I would buy the new aluminator shortblock from FRPP. If my plan holds in about 5 years when the motor needs rebuilt, I will by a used shortblock and build it up and swap it in.
If you want over 500rwhp for the track then I say get a 75 wet shot of nitrous. Run it on the track, out of the whole and it will help with your low end tq production with the centri.

MustangGTO450 in the orgional post I mentioned that I wanted to change the stock internals if I have to to make it over 500rwhp. If thats what I have to do then let me know where to start. Or is it not possible with a vortech. I know that the vortech S/Cer is good up to 20 lbs boost, so how can I change my internals in my block to be able to handle boost in the mid to high teens.
KCmarti: I live in Kaneohe Bay right now on the Marine Corps base, and its looking like I'll be going to the Marine Barracks on 8th and I in DC.

Take it to a reputable shop and have them build it. Try and tune it for around 440rwhp and drive it around for a while. You might fined it more than enough for the street.

hmm re enlister i see lol im also stationed inMD (USMC) and i also did the same exact thing u need and now im at 550rwhp street and over 600rwhp track tune..... there is a great place bout 45min from DC called JPC (justins performance center) they helped me with my car and im sure they can assist you... if youve already ordered the vortech then good for u but if not u might wanna look into the procharger IMHO they have had better results then vortech with a centrifugal s/c the suspension isnt the most needed mod since the boost is built from rpms but a new fuel system injectors and COPS are good to grab rightt away... when are u gonna be in the dc area i work bout 10min away from 8th and I if youd likie i could show u mine so u can kinda get an idea of what to look for and ur own pros and cons

RE: 4 more years of my life.
IMO (and others will differ) get the forged internals with your block (make sure it is balanced and blueprinted) and up the boost to whatever gives you 500 RWHP with a good tune and little timing adv. Make sure you get the intercooler and have an upgraded fuel pump (GT500 pumps etc). At least 39 lb injectors are a must and should have been provided with the non IC S/C. Get a one piece aluminum DS and all the suspension mods done to the rear of the car (LCA's, UCA, panhard bar, and sway bar) to get that power to the ground. Now get a short throw shifter and some motor mounts and/or CHE k- member brace with torque limiters so you don't miss third or second with the increased boost and flex of the motor under WOT or under hard acceleration runs with the new found power! Get bigger front brakes and SS lines and new hawk HPS pads and the car will stop much quicker. If you cant afford the 14" rotor upgrade get the SS lines and the new pads and they will help greatly in stopping distances (IMO more than the bigger rotors). Now you have a beast that will rule the road for the most part....... enjoy!
