I don't think I've ever seen anyone this excited about an idiot light (that's just what I've always called them, no offense)

idiot light indeed, and i'm less excited and more curious? once I see something that I dont know about I feel like i just have to know more about it! i think it may very well be one of my obsessive compulsive flaws! i'd be more curious to see if it could be turned into a programmable shift light, but i want to know what its for now, and why no one that i've talked to knows what it is or why it doesnt light up at all?

PEOPLE, THIS IS NOT FOR A GT 500! I HAVE A REGULAR 2005 MUSTANG GT, I LEFT A LINK TO A PICTURE OF THE LIGHT WHILE IT IS ILLUMINATED!

http://a332.g.akamai.net/f/332/936/1...4/028689-E.jpg

HOW DO I GET MINE TO LIGHT UP? CLICK THE LINK!! My mind wants answers!!
CONRAD, THE CLUSTER IS THE SAME FOR A V6, GT, OR GT500.
THE GT500 DOES NOT HAVE SOME SPECIAL CLUSTER THAT THE
GT DOES NO HAVE. THE INSTURMENT CLUSTER COMMUNICATES
WITH THE PCM VIA A HIGH SPEED CAN BUSS. THE PCM NEEDS THE
GT500 HAS'AS BUILT DATA' THAT SUPPORTS THE SHIFT LIGHT.
THE GT DOES NOTHAVE THE PROGRAMMING IN THE PCM TO TELL
THE CLUSTER TO ILLUMINATE THE SHIFT LIGHT. LEARN HOW TO
PROGRAMM AND DOWNLOAD THE PROPER LOGIC TO THE GT PCM
AND MAYBE, JUST MAYBE IT WOULD WORK.

yes i get that they are the same concept but i do have a photo of a stock GT that edmunds reviewed with the shift light glowing...so it was working for them....plus i do get that the cluster is the same, but the gt500 has different dials...the tach is on the opposite side and it glows a different color with the SVT symbol and not an up arrow. also the V6 has different dials too...only going up to 7000 RPMS and also only 120 MPH speedo. why would ford put an arrow on the tach for a GT if it wasnt going to be used?

Good luck with getting the light to actually function in your GT.

the gt500 has 2 different shift lights, theres the amber arrow one, kinda like the one you guys pictured which basically tells when to shift for fuel economy and then theres the svt shift light... that one is basically like your normal racing shift point... adjustable to 6k or where ever you like shifting, the arrow for fuel isnt adjustable.
